HOW TVA BOARD MEETINGS WERE OPENED TO THE PUBLIC IN 1980s
From Faith Young: TVA took notice of the public for the very, very first time early on I remember. . We had slipped into the TVA
Knoxville meeting room. As I rose to speak. Aubrey Wagner and colleagues got up from their chairs . He walked out of the
room and shut the door.. Can you picture? It was wonderful. They were astonished. Didn't work in the '80s. We all went to jail.
From Jeannine Honicker: Let me tell you the rest of the story about how the TVA board meetings became public. I was there
when Faith and her crew tried it the second time. Faith was smart. She invited two very fat women. When the board tried to
leave, these great gals just stood in the doorway and block their exit. So, the board had to open up to the public. Great fun.
