TN Carbon
In 1990, TN CO2 equivalent emissions totalled 134.4 million tons.

Under a Business as Usual (BAU) scenario, TN GHG emissions would increase 45%, to
194.7 million tons.

If TN adhered to the Kyoto Agreement, by 2017 it would reduce its GHG emissions by
7%, a reduction of 9.4 million tons of GHG to a level of 125 million tons.

The difference between the BAU and Kyoto scenarios is 70 million tons of GHG.
Mininimally, that is TN's GHG reduction goal.

The BAU model projects a 1.2% increase in CO2 emissions per year.
The US average pollution for each Mwh produced in 1998:
  • 1314 pounds CO2
  • 3.75 pounds NOx
  • 8.9 pounds SO2
